Management Development

The Management Development portfolio offers Jaycees opportunities to study and develop skills in financial management, planning and organization, and public relations.

    FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
    This area includes fundraising and the management of the general operating budget for the chapter's ways and means.
    CHAPTER MANAGEMENT
    This area includes the chapter planning, needs analysis, and evaluation throughout the year.  This also includes training for the chapter's board of directors and project chairpersons in leadership, management, and chairman planning guides.  Included are the chapter management responsibilities, i.e. meeting place and chapter communications.

    This area encompasses the chapter awards monthly, quarterly, and year-end.  Also included are the State Director activities of hosting district and state meeting and quarterly board conventions.

    PUBLIC RELATIONS
    This area is all communications conducted outside of the Jaycees, which includes press releases and announcements in the local media.

 

PROJECTS

AWARDS & INSTALLATION - A Banquet/Happy Hour is held to present the end of the year awards to the membership and passing Board of Directors, and a formal installation of the new Board of Directors.

MARYLAND SEAFOOD FESTIVAL - A seafood festival held at Sandy Point State Park featuring local seafood.  The Annapolis Jaycees provide a booth features a "Tiki Bar" atmosphere with Oyster Shooters as well as our signature Funnel Cakes!



HANGING OF THE GREENS - Jaycees decorate businesses in Historical Annapolis for the holidays.



GRAND ILLUMINATION - Decorating and lighting of the Holiday Tree in Historical Annapolis.  Features singing by local Annapolis Groups during the lighting presentation, and concessions.  The Annapolis Jaycees provide manpower and coordination.
