Membership Development
The Membership Development team is responsible for the recruitment of new members into the Jaycee organization and activating old members who are not currently involved in chapter activities. Projects are planned to attract new members and get them involved and feeling welcome, and offering opportunities for current members.
Individual members can earn recognition through the Maryland Jaycees Fleet of the Chesapeake program.
PROJECTS
New Member Orientation - Held monthly prior to the general membership meeting. New/Potential members are given a short description of the Jaycees and it's history, then are walked through the application process to become a member. New members are then brought into the membership meeting and introduced to current members and introduced to the projects currently underway.
New Member Get Togethers/Cookouts - Designed to help new/potential members feel welcome, this is an informal gathering , such as a happy hour or cookout where current members have an opportunity to meet and greet the new members.
Kickball/Softball Teams - Designed as a social activity to allow sports-minded individuals a chance to be competitive in a fun filled atmosphere.
Happy Hours/Bar Scavenger Hunter- Informal gathering of the general membership, just to socialize and have fun.
Baseball Outings- Social event to go see baseball games, such as Orioles and Baysox. Volleyball Nights- Designed as a social activity to allow sports-minded individuals a chance to be competitive in a fun filled atmosphere. These informal games usually follow the softball games and dinner. Theater Nights- Outings to see local plays Holiday Parties- An Jaycee event, just to socialize and have fun.
